Interview: N400 - Section 12 (50 questions). Do they ask meaning of the questions?

Hi,

 

I have question for the N400 interview about 50 questions in the N400 section 12 :

- These 50 questions have Yes/No answer but the question has some big words in it.

 

My Question:

- Does interviewer ask meaning of the words in the question. 

- Is there anyone in this forum experienced this (i.e. Interviewer asked meaning of the word in the question?)

- Do we need to prepare for it?

Can you give a couple of examples of what you mean rather than sending us to YouTube??

 

it makes sense for the interviewer to check if you actually understand your answer rather than just learn responses by rote, but I’m not sure if that’s what you mean.

The questions the poster is referring to come from the N-400--questions about "do you owe any overdue federal taxes," "have you claimed to be a US citizen," etc. I believe this is just part of general conversation while reviewing the N-400 itself. If you don't understand, that probably means you didn't review (and maybe didn't even fill it out) the N-400. I've never heard of them asking you to provide the definition of "claimed' or something like that.
