The media articles claim CBF is believed, but from everything I've seen in many many comments sections as well as the admittedly limited social circle of my own.... I'm not convinced that the majority of Americans believe her at all!!  Some do, and they are very vocal. Louder doesn't equate to "more".  Just look at the 2016 election. According to the media, Hillary was going to win by a landslide because she was "loved by all".... how did that end again? Oh yeah...  The tantrums from the minority are still raging, how could I forget!

You said exactly what I was thinking, but was too lazy to type yesterday.  Yes, if you google polls about CBF, it appears “most” Americans believe her.  Most, that is, of those who were sought out in the poll.  And of those who answered.

 

But like you, my gut feeling is that what is being reported is NOT what is actually out there.

 

As for the first sentence... All I have seen those standards doing is declining steadily.  It’s not been about integrity nor honesty for a very long time, just ratings and sensationalism.
