How long is it taking for interviews to be scheduled?

He had his medical today and everything went fine!

We are still waiting for the NVC to forward everything over to the London embassy and for them to mail us the packet.

We got our case number last week so I am assuming it will be forwarded over soon...

After the NVC forwards it over how long does it take to receive the packet and how far out are the interview appointments?

We are hoping he can come before his birthday and are eagerly trying to get everything going.

Thanks.

You can book your interview appointment online now as you have the case number.

You don’t need to wait for the embassy to send you the packet - I haven’t even gotten a packet and my interview is scheduled 30th October.

Make sure medical is done first and they fill out the DS-160 online. Then you can sign up and book the appointment for a K visa interview. You’ll also need to pay for it online and pay for a courier to send you back the passport (if you wish to do it that way)

Hi, I don’t think that’s strictly true if you do not mind me saying. If you have a case ID from the NVC, that doesn’t enable you to book an appointment. Something else must happen first, perhaps, for the status to change to “in transit”. Since, when I try, I receive the following:

The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment.

You mean: wait anxiously biting all your nails to the bed and the person’s next to you to whilst recognizing how much you’ve aged in the past 9 months for it to be in transit(?)!

Oh the embassy is all good. Now I was sitting there crapping my pants the whole way (no need really). Honestly is great. I feel, reflectively, they had made up their mind up almost before my interview. I only got asked 3 simple questions. Let your love shine. The staff were super lovely ❤️

Thank you for the positivity though; I'm actually really looking forward to seeing the new building!

Hiya, just checked the website to see and currently the soonest interview is on the 6th of November, then the 8th, then the 13th. When I first booked a few weeks ago the earliest was the 8th, which I booked but then I was able to get one on the 24th! So after you're able to book just keep checking and sometimes there will be a sooner interview available! Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time between the medical and the interview, as I've read that Knightsbridge can be a bit slow sending it over! (2 weeks should be more than enough I'm hoping!!)

ahh yes ! thank you so much this is very helpful. Do you know if we are allowed to call either the embassy or knightsbridge to ask if the medical has been sent over?

He had his medical last Friday and today the NVC changed to "in transit" ! exciting! We also completed our DS 160 last night.

I'm pretty sure you can call Knightsbridge to ask but you've already done your medical than you shouldn't need to! So far I've had no luck finding an appointment earlier than the one I have (except the once) so if you schedule your interview for the 6th or the 8th you should have no problems with it not getting there on time!!

You're lucky to be done with the medical already!! His is tomorrow and we've been running around trying to get everything we need! He was behind on his MMR and now that we're into October he had to get his flu shot (he's covered under the NHS because of heart defect so we didn't want to have to pay for it at Knighstbridge) Really hoping everything goes smoothly cause all of this is driving me crazy!  :girlwerewolf2xn:Haha.

NVC changed my status to in transit yesterday and today I have an interview booked for the 22nd October. Could have been sooner but my medical is on the 12th and didn’t wish to push it. Although I have seen that if your results aren’t in they just wait to receive them before finishing off. Cannot believe the last legs of this process are in sight and the start of my new life with my best friend is about to happen.
