Should we book the trip

Hi,

 

We're going to file our I765 in early November and we are also planning a long weekend getaway three weeks after to Las Vegas. For now, we're planning to leave on the Saturday and coming back on Monday night. But we are leaning towards staying there for one more night and flying back on that Tuesday night(It's expensive to fly there so we want to have a bit more time to enjoy). But we're a bit concerned about the biometric appointment fall in those two days. If we receive the letter before the weekend we can try to do walk-in or even reschedule it. But we're worried that if we get the letter over the weekend and the appointment date is on the following Monday or Tuesday. Any advices on whether we should extend our trip?

You can always ask to reschedule your biometrics appointment or buy refundable plane tickets/insurance in case you have to change the dates of your trip. Another option is to file when you get back.

Whenever you get the notice for the appointment which can take from 2 to -5+ weeks after filing, it will give you a few weeks notice so you should be fine. Or like the previous poster said, file the papers when you get back so you won't be concerned.
