The baby has a gun permit at 10 months old applied for by a member of his family. thats the only thing worth looking at as wrong in this situation

charles, did you have a gun permit at 10 months old and you feel close to this story? :D

i think all of the above is a major leap in logic............and no, i did not. i'm just trying to understand the anti-gun bias.

Actually, the reason I posted it is I thought it was amusing that Illinois gave him a permit to carry an item that he is not legally old enough to own yet.:lol::lol: It was meant to point out the ridiculousness of government bureaucracy and I think the reason the permit was issued is because government workers aren't there to THINK, they're there to follow narrow instructions. Obviously there's nothing in the law that prohibits issuing a gun permit to a baby. I find that amusing.

People just ASSUMED I posted it because of an anti-gun bias, when in reality people here don't really know my position on guns at all. They assume that since I usually vote Democrat, I MUST want to pry their guns out of their hands. Assumptions are fun, especially incorrect ones.

I think you misunderstood what a FOID card is. It isn't a permit to carry, only a permit to own a gun. In reality Illinois has more stringent laws regarding weapons than most states. In a lot of states you don't need a permit to own a gun. You can just walk in and buy it.

Splitting hairs. Show me a state that is happy with a 10 month-old baby either owning or carrying a gun...or a baby strolling up to a counter and buying a gun.:lol:

They are hunters! In Illinois, pheasant and squirrel hunting is still part of life and I just don't see what the big deal is here. The gun was a handed down gift from a grandfather. I heard this father talk on a radio show, they are not 'bubbas' but respected men in their community. Geez get a grip.

It's not like the baby has a 44 mag as a pacifier! His grandfather passed down a hunting shotgun to him. There are also other laws that say a person has to be 18 to buy a long gun and 21 before he can get a handgun. This FOID card nonsense just shows you don't understand what is going on. The card means nothing to a minor. It grants no rights or privileges.

I understand that you subscribe to the Freeper mentality, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't attack the messenger.

I am not attacking you, just trying to educate you on what a FOID card is. Look at it this way. Your post would have made as much sense if it read, "10 month old baby granted social security card" With a sub title of, "Are we giving babies pensions now?"

To a liberal it's an insult. It refers to the Free Republic web site. It's another name for a neocon. I don't mind. I am also a proud ditto head.

That explains a lot. Rush Limbaugh is a lying, drug-seeking blowhard. Let's hope you don't imitate all aspects of his life.

I love it when dittoheads put words in my mouth. I know exactly what a Freeper is, as I am a member of FreeRepublic.com myself. It's not all dittoheads over there, you know. Some of us are just interested in what you people are talking about, though the conversations aren't actually that interesting. Try and see if you can figure out which user I am.
