So..... 10 days after successfully fedexing my husband’s 601a to the Chicago lockbox, I’ve found it crumpled in our mailbox rejected, acco fastener missing, money order still intact thank god. Reason for rejection? “Applicant’s signature needed”... Part 6.a. WAS SIGNED BY MY HUSBAND, the applicant!!! I am at a loss... I’ve emailed pictures asking what other signature is required to the lockbox email on the rejection letter but.... anyone know what other signature they are referring to?? I must have gone over this petition for accuracy at least a dozen times and worked extra hard to get our petition in before the 9/11 new policy... why????  totally gutted right now.

If you say your husband signed (wet ink) the form, then I have no idea what else could be. The only thing that comes to mind is if you used a preparer or interpreter to fill out the form. If so, their signature is required.

Did you try to call uscis or make an infopass to clarify this?

There is also a forum that may be of help for you. Maybe you can contact them for additional help.
