DCF MANILA DENIED

I just got back from the manila embassy and they told me not to file because i would definitely be denied. i've been in the philippines since february and haven't left and i have a lease showing that i started renting in march and will be renting until next march but they said that that was not enough to establish residency. The lady who is in a very bad mood told me that they are really cracking down and that they need a lot more to establish residency than just a lease.

She told me to mail it to the USA. I'm pretty bummed and so is my wife.

I'm sorry to hear about the case. Historically they have accepted somebody on a tourist visa for 6+ months with an established domicile there. But yeah, I have heard they have been cracking down on it. The longer delays with US-based filing seems to have encouraged people to do the tourist + DCF route to be completed faster.

hmm very interesting. did not know that was the case. I have been in the Philippines since February 2017, but not as an established permanent resident. I came in on a balikbayan visa for one year, then extended it for 7 months. When my wife died last August. Then remarried this past August and came back on another balikbayan visa for one year. I am wondering if that will be enough.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
