Hi!

I'm completely new to the k-1 process... was hoping you guys could help me out!

My situation:

I'm an American citizen

I currently live and work in Japan, and will be living here until the end of March, 2019 (I'm a student but make roughly $2000/mo)

My fiance is a Japanese citizen

We want to go back to the US and get married as soon as possible once my visa is finished here

A couple questions:

1. Is it ok to submit my I-129F while I'm still here in Japan?

2. Does my Japanese income count for affidavit of support?

3. I've been here for only 6 months (Jan 2018) so would my US income from 2017 count if we applied this year/had the interview in the next 6-9 months?

4. My sister has agreed to be a cosponsor....should both of us prepare 1-134 ?

Any information would be a huge help

Thank you!!!

Also, there is a VERY small chance the K1 visa will be approved by March 2019. It roughly takes 10 months from filling to final approval in the embassy.

That's what I've read :( I've seen some people get done a lot quicker....so just being hopeful. We plan to probably have him come over on a tourist visa while the k-1 is processing....then come back for the interview together when it's time

Just do a DCF, Direct Consular Filing if you have been in Japan longer than 6 months, it is a few weeks process compared to almost a year process doing a K1.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
