Hello everyone, I’m getting a little worried because I have scheduled interview date for naturalization test next month but from the moment I applied (May 2nd 2018) to the day of the interview few things are changed. I got divorced and I will not have a job anymore because I’m gonna be full time student. I applied with the 5 years rule, does anyone knows if those things will be a problem for my interview?

thank you

hi

no, if you were applying under the 3 year rule it would, you would have had to withdraw the form and file at the 5 year mark. but since you are filing under the 5 year  if you have your divorce decree bring a copy to the interview so the officer can put it in your file

you will have to notify the officer of the changes, so he or she can update the N400 when you are going through the form

Thank you for the answer.

I hope that they will understand that ... my life changed more for the last 4 months than it did for the last 5 years and I was reading some post here that sometimes they are reviewing your papers for months after that interview
