Hi all,

My partner and myself have been together for over 5years now and finally, after a lot of travelling we are filing for the K1 visa.  The question I have is at what point do we apply for the K2? We’re currently putting everything together to send off with the I129F form but obvs there’s not much about the kids on there.  Does the K2 paperwork come once this form has been received.  I understand this part is more to inform them of our relationship, and our intentions.

Any help clearing up this confusion would be more than greatfully received.

Thanks

Like the previous helpful post, you will add your dependents after your i-129F is approved you're ready for the K-1 visa interview.

I'm pretty sure you know about this, but if the children are the genetic/biological children of the US petitioner, then they don't need a K2 visa as they may qualify for CRBA. If they're your biological children but not the US petitioner's children, then they do need a K2 visa. Just clarifying.

Thanks Kumar.

We knew they would need the K2 with them not being his biological children.

It’s like we reread and reread everything over and over and now the pressure of getting everything correct is making us question if we’re doing it all correctly.  It’s so nerve racking that after all this time that our future comes down to this.
