I feel a bit silly for asking but I'd rather err on the side of caution with everything immigration related.

In my email from the visa medical guys it states:

"a.    Original Passport or UK Driving Licence (photo card not paper licence)
Copies of ID MUST be certified. We will be unable to conduct the medical if they are not certified by the US Embassy London/Belfast"

So does that mean bring your passport and everything is fine? Or is there a step I've missed where I need to get my UK passport certified by the embassy?

I've not seen anyone talking about needing to get their ID certified, so I feel like it actually means that if I provide a photocopy of my passport it would need to be certified.

But like I said, thought it'd be better to check.

Your passport is fine. They will take a copy of it there and hand it back to you after. :)
