I barely was able to meet the income guidelines but only because I missed almost three months of work in 2017. So I had an income of about 21000 or so. But the year prior I made 30k and I'm on track to making pretty close to that $30k this year of 2018.

Basically I had a job loss at the end of 2016 and had to wait until beginning of February to start working again. Also I took a month and a half vacation last summer for our wedding in the Philippines

My house is mostly paid off and is worth at least $120k and only owe a $7k HELOC on it....

Do I need to provide an assessment of my home's value on the Affidavit of support?

I figure not having a huge mortgage over my head will figure favorably for me.

Will I be able to provide YTD earnings since my Affidavit of Support will be needed prior to the end of 2018?

I posted this because of the other thread regarding similar circumstance where people recommended another couple get joint sponsors. We don't really have that as an option... but I do have at least $110,000 equity in my home.

You should submit proof of ownership, location, date of acquisition, recent appraisal (tax or by licensed appraiser), and evidence of all loans/liens on the property. Include a letter from your bank that cites the amount in your accounts. Also, do previous pay stubs and a letter from your employer stating the terms of your employment - 40 hours a week at $x per hour.

The employer letter is not needed if you have a pay stub showing all details.  To answer one original question, there are no "year to date income" questions on the affidavit.  Your current income is your gross pay for a pay period times the number of pay periods in a full year.

So, for example, if by the end of September, you've earned 21,000 that would be your year to date, but that is never an answer you would put on the form.  If you've made 21,000 through September, your actual current income is probably about 28,000.  Use the formula I gave you above to correctly state your "current income".

If you have a $30,000 a year salary, that's your "current income" even if you started the job yesterday.
