Will my previous visits to the Philippines affect my U.S. Citizenship Application?

I became a U.S. Permanent Resident last September 2013 and planning to apply for N400 on Septermber or October 2018 on my 5 year mark! 

 

I want to apply as quick as possible but I was out of the country for about 5 months in total. My visit in Philippines last 2015 for 4 months and last 2017 for 3 weeks.

 

I just want to know when is the best time to apply? Thank you!!

You may file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, 90 calendar days before you complete your permanent residence requirement if your eligibility for naturalization is based upon being a:

- Permanent resident for at least 5 years; or
- Permanent resident for at least 3 years if you are married to a US citizen.

 

You may use the USCIS Early Filing Calculator https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/dateCalculator.html

to ensure you file your Form N-400 within the 90-day window.

USCIS will deny your form if you file more than 90 days before your anniversary date.

It won't affect your n400 application since you did't stay out of the US for more than 6 months in a row
