Well the fire crossed into Lake City lastnight. Lake City is about 45 minutes north of me. SERIOUSLY on the news lastnight it said the weather for Lake City today is "smoke and EMBER"

The smoke is worse today. They have 2100 firefighters on standby. my question is, where were these 2100 firefighters when the fire FIRST started. doh!

December: In Security checks

January 2006: Waiting

February: Waiting..Contacted Congress

March 4th: APPROVED

March 17th: NVC posted file to London

March 20th: London Receives file

March 29th: Receive package 3

April 13th: London Receives package

April 19th: Medical - June 13th: INTERVIEW......APPROVED!!!!

June 20th: ARRIVE IN USA

Time taken for whole process 9 Months

October: 13th: Sent off AOS Package

November 3rd: NOA1

November 14th: Snail mail ~ NOA1 ~ Case moved to the CSC for faster processing.

November 14th : CSC has petition for me and my daughter.

December 14th: Biometrics completed.

January 17th: APPROVED AOS!

January 22nd: Green card arrives in the mail:))

Time taken for AOS - 3.5 Months

Finished for 2 years.

my mom is worried bc she works at the VA hospital in lake city. shes worried they may have to evacuate the patients to gainesville. tho the smoke is no better we dont have flying ember

We've got heavy haze of smoke here (Tampa Bay Area) and the smell is the worst so far. I can't see the ash falling but I can see a fine layer of it over everything outside. I'm looking forward to getting out of here tomorrow morning. Going to Manila for air quality relief. Imagine that! :jest:

OK, my Dad lives in Florida and I know how bad the situation is there, but that did make me laugh. That sounds like a weather report for Dante's Inferno.

OK, my Dad lives in Florida and I know how bad the situation is there, but that did make me laugh. That sounds like a weather report for Dante's Inferno.

Yea i laughed to LOL especially how seriously the newscasters said it hahaha

mom (works at the VA in lake city) said the smoke is so bad they had to turn off the AC in the hospital and just run fans on the patients. she said its been a rough night
