Anyone know what the interview process is for a young child? (4 years old). My husband (his dad) and I did the CR1 and he left his son with his mother (child’s grandma) who has him full tome. (Child’s mom not in the picture.)

Can grandma take him to his interview? What kinds of things would they even ask a child? I am the petitioner, do I have to be present? Can his dad go get him and bring him or do I need to since I’m the petitioner? Any info helps!!

You or your husband don’t need to be there. Grandma can bring him to the interview. She needs to bring a valid ID to show at the Embassy gate. I brought my Philippine passport then because I accompanied my husband and our 3 kids when they had their interview. I was there solely as a companion (not the petitioner).

I don’t think they will even ask questions to the child, he’s 4! 🤣 It’s more of just a formality coz they want to see if the child is really who’s on the passport photo.
