In 2014 my fiancé was approved for a k1 visa.

long story. But I did not marry her and she returned to Vietnam within the 90days. It was heart breaking. My mother was terminally ill and I was in Mexico caring for her. It was my fault I did not marry her.

We have talked nearly every day since she returned to Vietnam.

Now my father is terminally ill and I lost my job to care for him.

my questions are...

what are our chances if we re apply? Also my bank account has been drained from losing my job and caring for my father. Can her U.S. cousin sponsor our financial obligations?

I have a joint account with my father that exceeds $50,000 but this is a joint account.

I feel so guilty and lost because I failed to complete our original visa.

thank you for any advice.

Yes. You can have a co sponsor though no matter what you file the paperwork as a main sponsor.

A direct relative of Vietnamese beneficiary co-sponsoring you in a K-1 is going to look very suspicious. I think you'll have trouble with it. Also, are you working? If you don't have an income to support her, forget the K-1. The VN consulate is very intense about money, jobs, financial support, etc. The majority of our K-1 interview at the Saigon consulate was about finances, jobs, etc. - and I make way above the threshold. My advice is to have a steady job/income and then file. If you're still unemployed and taking care of your father, I don't think you are financially stable enough to get the K-1. It's a tough process in Vietnam. I hope everything works out for you. Feel free to message me if you want. I've spent a lot of time in Vietnam and went through the K-1. You can do it, but it has to be very orderly and tight.
