I entered the country on K1 visa in April 2017, and I filed one unsuccessful AOS in June. I am now scheduled for a green card interview for the application I filed January 4th. I got my medical done beginning of February 2017. My green card interview is scheduled in May. I called USCIS to inquire if I will have to do another medical and they informed me that it’s at discretion of the officer. I already received my EAD without any RFE. I am just worried if they are likely to ask for another medical since my interview is way past one year from the date when I got my medical done, but my AOS application was not.

My medical exam overseas will expire this month also and my case status says case is ready and to be scheduled for interview. So it might be anytime next month. I'm also thinking of doing the medical all over again but i might just waste my money. Unless indicated in your interview letter notice that you have to do medical again, then do it. If not, just wait during the interview if the officer will ask. Ive read few threads that they got an RFE during an interview for the medical only. Some dont even if its more than a year already. So it really depends on the officer.

Good luck to us. 😊

It depends on the officer. I had my interview yesterday and I took my immunization records with me. That seemed to have satisfied him. As long as you file for AOS within the year of the medical exam it should be okay (again it depends on the officer) My exam expired in September 2017(filed my AOS before that.) Good luck! :)

When I went for my interview, the case officer had my Canadian medical info, DS-3025, etc, and still said I would be getting an RFE for the I-693. He said the 3025 "is for the state department so it doesn't mean much to us". Getting a second medical is expensive, so you need to balance the cost with the convenience of having everything done without any risk of it taking longer.
