Greetings on and all.

I spent time abroad before I filed my I-751 and N-400. When I was abroad with the wife no trips lasted over 6 months, and I had to sorted out some unfinished business, also have all of my personal items shipped overseas on the next available vessel.

Since then, we have remained in the USA for 2 years. The question is how will the view this at my interview? Additionally, I know there must be some approved N-400 Applicant on this website who can tell me what they ask you in that interview. Can my wife came with me? I have already sent all the documents they asked for, do I bring the original documents to the interview?

 

Any helpful advice will be appreciated.

Since no trip abroad was over 6 months in duration, there is not a mandatory presumption of break in continuous residence. However, if the return to the the US was only to "touch down" (short stay in the US to "reset the clock"), the IO can still determine that continuous residence was broken (barring sufficient evidence showing otherwise). The specifics on how long you were in and out of the US would be helpful to determine if this is likely an issue. The IO has the final say.

Simply list your trips on the application and that should be ok.

I listed multiple trips out of the country, lasting from 3 weeks to 3 months, always going back home. They do not break my residence so I do not expect they will be a problem.

What they said, and NO your wife won't be allowed into the Citizenship Interview. so you will need your big boy britches on .. haha
