My fiancé had to get 2 police certificates, one from the country she lives in (South Africa) and one from the Austrian embassy (she lived there for 10 months when she was 16).  The one from Austria expired before her interview, but we were told by the embassy that as long as she didn't travel back to Austria since she got the police report, it was ok.  She already had the interview and they were right, it was not an issue.  Keep in mind this is from the US embassy in South Africa, not sure how it will be where you are, but good luck!  Ask the embassy, email them.

Hello @trisha_bogs, you will need police certificates for any country you resided in for over 6 months after the age of 16 except the USA. It needs to be less than 12 months old.

Police certificates are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. You are not required to renew a police clearance letter from your previous country of residence if you have not travelled to that country after the date of the issuance of such letter

My opinion is based on my education and experience.  As long as your police clearance covers the dates that when you entered the country and after you left the country and that the police clearance is dated after you left the country, it is my educated opinion that the USCIS should accept it.  But, have your gal be prepared to covers that dates, times, and whenever you guys did stuff together.  Also, Eternity offer good info.

Best wishes...,
