I got my case number and Invoice ID today but when I enter the info on NVC to choose an agent then I get this message:

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error. "

Do I need to worry about this or is this just a default message before DS-261 is available?

No need to worry, this message is normal. Give it a few days and then you should be able to log in.

Should one contact the embassy to confirm that they received your file from NVC? Per NVC, my case was sent to the embassy on 03/06/18 but my case status still says "In Transit." It is my understanding that case status should change to "Ready" when the embassy receives it. Please help
