Would it be worthwhile to have the district congressman get in touch with USCIS on my behalf? Would he be able to get any more detail than what I can? After more than four months of waiting without any indication that my case is even being looked at, I'm feeling pretty frustrated and desperate. :help::(

I asked my lawyer this question and he said that in his experience (he is strictly an immigration lawyer BTW), by the time people got a response from their Congressman, they had already been approved. In other words, it takes a while to get a response, and usually the response is a standard letter probably stating that you are within normal processing time. He said it may even delay the process because your petition has to be taken out of order for whomever to look at it. I chatted with someone else here on VJ who contacted his Congressman and got it taken care of IMMEDIATELY, but this man personally had a connection. If you have a personal connection and can get action immediately, I would say go for it. Otherwise we are all so close, around the 4 month mark.... I don't know if it is worth it. Also, you may really need your Congressman's help later on if something goes wrong down the line. Just something to think about....

GOOD LUCK everyone!

P.S. Those of you approved yesterday through the mail, did your USCIS online account update yet? Or did you get emails?!

I talked to my Senator's aid yesterday about USCIS. They stated that according to the rules they must follow with immigration, all they can do is inquire about a case. I was told they cannot get involved in a case unless it was beyond the six month time frame or some major issue existed. In addition, it would take about a month to even inquire on my behalf. I was also told that they would not expedite someone's case unless the above criteria existed. I do not know if what was told to me was entirely true or if the aid was blowing smoke up my.......

I also called my Congressman's office and basically got the same response.

Basically calling my Senator's office was just as frustrating as calling USCIS. If you are not connected, then you are nobody. Maybe you will have better luck.

I am hoping that all May filers will be approved before this month is over.

The way things are going, there are going to be a lot of inquiries with many going over 6 months. Just watch though, when that happens, they will change the amount of time you have to wait before they can do anything...like you will have to wait 12 months.

I indicated that same senario to both aids when I called but like I said, I felt like I was talking with USCIS.

Hey guys, I have a question...

Next tuesday is may 9th....so that means that I'm officially at 5 months...What should I do in case (GOD FORBID) I don't hear anything from VSC by tuesday? Should I tell Pat to contact his congressman??? It's just that the closer I get to the six months, the more scare I get....you know....There's no freakin way I can be here at the end of november, Pat's b-day!!! So God, I just need a enormous miracle!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!

What do you guys think? Should we contact his congressman?

Congratulations to all that are approved.

But! How are June filers getting approved when they have not finished May yet?

I called USCIS yesterday.

She could only read to me what I have already read on the website.

"We are processing people who filed in March."

I told her "I know what your website says. And I know it is not true!" WHY? She could not explain this!

Now I see today 2 approved from June.
