During the interview my fiance was asked for his military information. My fiance was exempt from service...

However, even though he was exempt, he was still asked for documentation  (and translation). I do not know what information would be required if your fiance served in the military...

Please update this thread after your interview ;)

Hi, I had a question regarding the military card, what if my fiance is too young to be exempted? (he's 28) Does he have to serve in the military before coming to the states? Is there no way around it? He's the youngest of two brothers and when he went to go ask to be exempted because he takes care of his parents, they told him because he is the youngest of two brothers, and because his brother didn't serve, he has to serve his time. Any information would really help.

Thanks

Hello, I know they ask for the Military Certificate (with translation) or exempted notice.  Even if they don't ask for these documents at interview,  he might have a problem when returning to Algeria in the future for not compleating this mandatory service.  I hope someone can have a better answer on how to get the exempted notice before his interview.

Thanks for your reply, it's really confusing and difficult to find a solution, but hopefully we'll find one.
