Hi. I'm in the process of filling out the I-130, and there are a couple of things that are problematic in my case.

First, and not really problematic actually, I'm a us citizen by birth, but I was born in Germany while my father was stationed there. So for 37. My citizenship was acquired through: do I tick "birth in the USA", or "parents". I do have a us birth certificate, which is why I'm unsure how to answer the question.

Second, and more problematic, my address history is very bad. I've been living a nomadic life for a long time. For a while I was living in a van on my Boss' property, some months of couch surfing. I've also spent a lot of time abroad, travelling, 6 months at a time one winter. I'm not sure as to how I would write all of that.

Thanks for your help

You were born in Germany, not USA. Your citizenship is through your parents.

I hope someone else can help with the second question.

Yes, and the citizenship can be documented with a Consular Report of Birth Abroad or a copy of every page of the US Passport.

There are pages at the end of the I-130 for you to add any additional residence history.  Just explain it the best you can.

Another question, part4, 12: Provide the address in the United States where the beneficiary
intends to live. Can I leave this blank? I wont be renting a place for both of us until my wife actually can come live with me.

Sorry if these questions are silly, I just don't want to make any mistakes if possible.

thanks again

I checked the form and in some questions you have the option to leave it blank, like 11.a and 11.b, I also read somewhere online, that you need to answer all the questions. I'm not sure, and I hope somebody who went through this step can help here, I found this page  where you can change the address on line:

Is your current address the same as the mailing address?
