Hi All,

Visa journey has been helpful throughout my immigration journey, always helpful for that.

I again require help from you guys with my situation.

 

My situation:

I received my citizenship through my USC x-wife and we got divorced in mid-2017.

I found a girl through family connections in US who was also going through divorce which has been going on since last year due to financial disputes etc.

we both have no kids, her divorce will be finalized in next couple of weeks.

 

We would like to be together as early as possible given we are getting old as the time goes by.

 

her visa status: F1 pending & H1b to be filed

my future wife was on H4 visa through her x-husband which will get terminated immediately once her divorce is finalized.

she is currently going to school and her F-1 visa is in progress and she also plans to file for H1b visa as her current company is ready to apply for her.

 

could you please share your expert advise if you see any bottleneck or issues with me filing for her as soon as her divorce is finalized and her F1 visa in pending state?

Have you checked to see if she is in a state where a waiting period to get married after a divorce applies to her? Not many states have this but you don’t want to be caught out.

hello all,

need your advise if it will help to wait to file for my future wife GC after 1-2 months of her divorce, is there a recommended waiting time period which will help to avoid any scrutiny in the GC interview.
