This was on my local news last MLK day

0000bgk2.jpg

priceless

I'd bet my left testicle that someone altered that photo.

yup, that's not even a particularly good photoshop job

I thought it looked altered.

no one is certain yet. I was watching the news that night but I think I was cooking dinner when this story was on :( so I can't say I am an eye witness. All I can say is, if it's fake then why would someone be taking a picture of thier tv screen with thier camera phone? I know Corpus is borring and all

...at the very least, in the context that it is in - it plays up to the type of racial stereotypes that some exaggerated during the aftermath of Katrina.

I don't think so, I think no matter what race the people on the news report were, someone would have taken a picture of a couple of people holding up signs with poor spelling.

case in point:

get_a_brain_morans.jpg

I only see a picture of 2 people holding signs that are misspelled followed by another picture with another person holding yet another misspelled sign.

Here in Corpus Christi, the White people are the minority. This town is predominantly Hispanic and Black. Your chances of catching a white person with a misspelled sign are fewer than other races. Now I can see where it can be taken out of context and people can assume that about a picture, (that's pretty sad) Corpus was one of the towns that Katrina victims found refuge in. There are still thousands living here, making this town their new home.

So Kisschick...did they actually put this pic on your news?

The pic no, I had the news playing that day but I was cooking dinner so I missed seeing that news report, I heard about it later though (OMG DID YOU SEE THE NEWS!) and then I saw the snoopes.com thing on Live Journal. It was a news report about a local MLK Day parade.
