Hello everyone,

I'm married to a US citizen and we both live together abroad. I'm working for a company currently but I was informed that they may send me to another city for work. my wife will not come with me as she is studying in a college in the city we are currently in ( we will be separated )

Is it okay to move to another city knowing that we mentioned in I-130 that I live in the current city AND together?

I was also thinking about changing employer and  looking for another job for another company that makes me stay here with my wife ? but we also mentioned the current employer ( company ) in I-130 which is I'm currently working in.

it's just we don't want them the think we lied about either the city or the employer.

please advise

Just update your info, but if you live somewhere now that someone you trust will receive any mail that could come, it would help a lot.  If she's staying put, not as big of a risk.    I have read posts where the Green Card or Social Security card gets mailed to the old address and takes forever to reissue.

I don't think they will think you lied, it's just that updating your address everywhere it needs to can be hard. Post visa matters are usually the bigger headache.  If she's there, I would worry much less.

You cant until its at the NVC.  If your wife lived in the USA you could change her address but the USCIS wont change foreign addresses.

As I stated, the USCIS doesnt really care about the beneficiary.
