Oath ceremony and traveling

I will appreciate your answers based on your experiences . 

 

 

I will have my oath ceremony January 30th and I will be traveling out of the country February 3rd . I will be able to get my passport within those days or will be better to re-schedule the oath ceremony ? Thank you so much .

Even with expedited service on the passport (which you can’t apply for until you have your naturalisation certificate, and for which BTW you have to surrender your GC) you’re only leaving yourself 3 days in between the two and I can’t see it happening, sorry.

 

I think you’ll have to delay either your travel or your ceremony.

Personally, unless it is a life or death situation, I would postpone my travel..not the ceremony. Just me

1) Unless it's a life-or-death emergency, even with normal expedited service it takes around 2-3 weeks to obtain a US passport (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/hurry.html).

 

2) No one can get passports right now due to the federal government shutdown.

 

So you probably will want to reschedule your oath ceremony.
