I would hope processing move faster as we are paying $700 dollars to file. I remember back then it was only $75.

I wish!!! Wish we had an accurate tracking system to avoid all uncertainty. Philadelphia field is  processing March 2017 applications as per the website. My co-worker who is a July 2017 Filer got her interview scheduled for April last week. :( No point in tracking anywaz!

I totally agree . Their processing website doesn’t make any sense.. i think they just select random files.. and with online filing , they know that the files will be complete and not many mistakes.. so that’s why online is faster for some people but I still don’t understand what they list on the site vs what they process . No logic there.

m@istar-   GOOD NEWS!! Glad to know Philadelphia is processing IOE's faster. I hope mine would turn out in next few months. Crossing fingers! That's less than 5 months right! Kindly reply to jgb29's question

i wonder if i can travel outside the united states after i have my fingerprint? thanks

Absolutely. I had my biometrics done on 02/27/18. I am traveling outside the US from 30th March to 21st April. I haven't received my interview date but it will be most likely in May.

General question ;

If you mail in your paper n400 form and USCIS converts it to IOE, can you expect the same processing pace as an online filer!?

m@istar What was the estimated completion/wait time posted on your account?

Thank you,

Judith

Hi Judith...Initially it was 22 months when I filed.....Then after Biometrics changed to 18 months....then after a week or so.....15 - 16 months

Yesterday it was 14 months...and after I received the notification ...i checked and right is 12 months....

However earlier It showed that "We reviewed your Biometrics and that I dont need to do any thing at this time"

Right now it says the "We reviewed your Biometrics" only.. That will change eventually later ....

Good Luck

Thanks INCHAPE7....seems that certainly the IOE's are getting processed faster..actually much faster..I wish you all the best and all my fellow members who are waiting anxiously to get their files processed quickly. I did replied to jgb29's post...you can view that above

The thing that I observed here is that online filing has an upper edge vs paper filing.... and another thing is if your record is totally clear without any violations or any things that can make an officer to take more time to clear you for an Interview ...you are more likely to get an early Interview .....

All it depends on your individual case and paper work...

Good Luck

This does seem to be the case.

If I haven't received an interview notice by the end of April I will probably attempt an expedite on the basis of severe financial loss, since the job I want requires US citizenship, and I'm a single parent of two children.

It would probably be a long shot, but I may try regardless.

I reached out to my contact who is a contractor that works on the USCIS online account systems and asked him about the highly inaccurate timelines, as well as the updates (increased timelines) that many of us saw this past week. He said he doesn't work on the timelines directly, but has contacted someone who does, and will let me know what comes of it.
