Way over budget...!!   No surprises there..  we have done two renovations here and both blew by the budget estimate by double.

Yeah it was supposed to be a simple remodel but then would came down that they will be expanding the national highway into the mountains to 2 lanes each way. So we had to basically almost do a complete rebuild ughhhhh. Because my asawa used to live in the front bedroom that opens up only outside, and now her mom was using it. So they had to demolish almost everything but the floor and build back. We are still not completely done with it but we are about 95% there, but the burangay has already come around to do a new tax assessment. We spent about $20k and I said no more on my pocketbook and let my wife know I was not happy about everything.

Ouch!!  $20K!!!!!    That is a new house. ;)

Luckily for us we were only doing a renovation on an auntie's home and one of the stores my wife owns... still they both bend the budget like a pretzel.

Well we basically had to do a complete rebuild like I said, and my wife did try to keep it cheap but used quality materials, and brand new quality doors for that house. They were having a problem come by having a baliw guy come around looking and asking for my 16 year old niece last year at 2 am. So we hired us a guy to make two high quality wooden doors to keep people out.

My wife wasn't happy because it to took her go home money for this year but not my fault.

The wife also knows that I will get a new gun of my choosing and a big screen tv of my choosing come tax time. There ain't nothing she can say or do about it.

Sad to say we needed it but you know how in the Philippines guys get drunk and take advantage of a teenager. So we ain't letting that happen with her. We actually talked them into getting mace as well. What was funny is my asawa asked if we can send one of guns there

That would be a bad day trying to send a firearm.   But I know the feeling ...

Only gun I bought in the past couple years was a gift for my wife,  got her a 9mm wash n wear S&W.  Wanted to get her a .40 but she likes the 9mm best and with the new defensive rounds available the 9mm is pretty good.

Yeah I had to explain to her about that. I worked as a DOD Contractor in Afghanistan so I already knew the law and I had to explain it to her.
