My husband and I filed our I-130 in February and are awaiting our approval.  I filed with my maiden name due to not wanting to wait any longer to get started.  I was planning to wait until we finished the process, but I have now decided that I would really like to go ahead and change my last name.  I have read, called the USCIS and the NVC, and talked with the passport office even.  The answer has been consistently the same in that me changing my last name will not complicate anything and is an easy change for the USC.  My husband and I just thought we would get the opinion of others to see if anyone had any experience with this matter.  Thanks in advance for any advice offered or experiences shared.

Changing your documents is one thing.  Do it when you're ready.  Just "use" the married name on all immigration related documents from here on out.  The US citizen need not provide evidence of name change based on the current marriage, at any time during the process.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
