Does the bankstatements need to be signed by a bank officer?

How many months back on bank statements should I collect?

For the bank statement. I called up my bank (USAA) and told them that I needed a Notice of Good Standing that displayed:

  • Account type
  • Deposits made over past 12 months
  • Current balance
  • Date Opened
  • Signed by bank officer (mine was signed by someone with the title of "Consumer Account Specialist")

I got mine completed at the end of July 28 with an interview date of September 5; it took my bank a few days to get it to me. Once you compile your I-134 and all supporting documents, you will want to mail that to your fiance.

Is bank statement required for the I-134? or it can just be optional?

People usually only show bank statement if they are trying to show assets. Unless they recently just started working at a job, and they dont have enough evidence to prove that. Then bank statements are another way to show that income is coming in. So if you have paystubs, w-2, and tax transcripts, you should be good. If you are self employed, then some embassy requires your most recent tax transcripts, some require your last 3 years.
