overdraft Check AOS

Hi everyone! so, I'm in a pickle here( like some say). I applied for the AOS and well check hit this morning, unfortunately another check hit as well...leaving me with -300 in my bank account. I honestly cant get $300 in a day and don't know if bank will leave me at -300 ( only a miracle ). To make the story short, has anyone gone through a bounced check? and if so whats the procedure after? Do I send the packet back the same and just send another check? or do I update the packet? I just want to be prepared for anything. If any of you know someone that's gone through this or if you have gone through this? i know everyone is different, but hey any advice or experience will help happy Thursday

Some banks allow overdraft and charge overdraft fees. Having a -$300 may be an indication that the check didn't bounce. You will have to check with your bank about that, and the cost of overdraft fees.

I talk to them but they said I have 24 hours to come up with the money or it maybe over drafted...its really up to the bank. I'm not worried about the overdraft fee i can make it up by saturday, I'm just worried that the check will bounce and than have to wait another month for the process. But Thank you

Was it the AOS check that caused you to be negative in your account? If so that means they already ran the check,  and its been accepted.

Not sure but I'll know tomorrow. If I'm still negative tomorrow than it went through that's what the rep said at the bank

Yeah if you are charged the check amount,  and an overdraft fee, then they ran the check and its gone through.  It sounds as if it has been processed already. That's why you're showing negative. Generally, if a bank doesn't allow the check to go through, you would only end up with a fee for a declined check. Which most certainly wouldn't be $300.

Update: Check was returned as insufficient funds. I already received NOA1 and Bio appt. letter. I don't know what to do? Should I call and see? Should I send them another check? I have searched but nothing new or very much helpful. I need advice from someone who has been through this.

I don't have a lot of information for you because I haven't been through this myself. I have to say I'm suprised you received your NOA1 and bio app letter. I would think they would of denied due to lack of funds, but even the other posts I've read on this aren't very clear. Some say that USCIS will try to process the payment once more. Are you aware if they've tried a second time?  Maybe @geowrian can help provide some insight? Here are some other threads I've found similar to yours.

Thank you! I am aware that they will try a second time so I'm just waiting... but I'm the same I investigated and no clear answers. Im going to see if they mail out anything from here until the appt. or if they try to send the check one more time. I called the bank and they said it has only been 1 time because fee, but I dont know. But I will keep in the look out thank you.

Yeah, they should try to process it 2 times before returning the packet. Will they actually do that? Nobody can say for sure, but that's what I've heard from others in the past. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer either.
