I don't know what to say.

As the person above me said- at least you know the Visa was approved. I hope you guys get all that stuff you need from the Military quickly. Is there a higher up that he can talk to to get things done faster?

Thanks everyone...........it really does suck

Bottom line is he does have tenative approval which is good. I got pretty wound up when i wasn't sure if my husband would have the proper discharge papers to satisfy the consul immediately upon release or if it was one of those things he'd have to wait a lil bit longer for. all I could think of was the amount of time ( even if small) mailing the papers, waiting for someone to acknowledge them and then send the visa . at this point , any delay is a day too many.

hubbby is calling DMCARM( i typed DMEDCARM earlier oops ) himself 1st thing Monday am to see where his file is.......from there to see a padre....and anyone with more stripes than he has.......i mean what are they gonna do kick him out ;)

anyway....guess we'll see

again , thanks you guys :)

Wow... I read the Topic Head and I was like... oh no.. not something else and I was not sure when you said denied pending release since I thought your ordeal was finally over. Hope this gets resolved soon.

I have yet to come accross a govt institution (Canada and US) that give priority to Family issues. I mean its not like their lives are being affected by all of this and I cannot understand how these people can distance themselves from issues relating to family and not care.

It's called the "I don't give a sh!t" syndrome...it's unfortunate, but quite common methinks. (sarcastic smilie needed here)

Cutie...gawd, I hope this gets settled soon. Hope Monday gives you both good news. (F)

....but ......the medical release is worth an additional $38,000.00 of pension income over 2 years...... so we wait. I cant even guess how many times ive said screw the 38 grand and come home.

From one to another, chickie.. stick it out! 38K (even canadian "dollars", lol) will buy a lot of making up for lost time... on a nice tropical beach, for starters. :)

Hang in there Cutie.. I hear Canada's a nice place to visit! <g>

So after all this waiting and all the guarantees of medical release.....it was denied.

the good side .......it's an answer. which means now he can release voluntarily and be out in 30 days.

bad side......those empty promises cost us an additional month......maybe more.

and I dont think im getting my GD NEW CAR :crying:

:)

I'm sure once he is out he could redress the medical issue. Never hurts, all they can do is say no.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
