Cr-1 application

The application asks for my birth certificate or passport and social security number. I recently applied for a new social security with my new surname. I am sending in my passport for a name change as well. Will they give me issues if I send a copy of my current passport that has my old name and social security number will have my new name?

SSN is for life.

Should I just wait for my new passport to come in to file? Or just send the receipt from passport agency stating my new passport is processing. I'm the petitioner us citizen.

thanks

How long do you think it will take for your new passport to arrive?

I believe you should be able to include the receipt that your new passport is processing for the application to go through. Also include a copy of your marriage certificate as it is your legal name change document, with the explanation, if you do not want to wait for your new passport.
