My fiance and I recently had our interview at the Kingston embassy the interview went well but he was instructed he was eligible for a waiver based on an offense almost 20 years ago. The charge was an assault although he didnt commit it he was sentenced to 6 months of which he spent 4 months and this is his only offense. I have printed the i-601 form but we are a little confused in where to start. Also if he falls under certain exemptions such as first and only offense, sentenced to 6 months of which he spent 4, and the charge is more than 15 years old what are the steps to get that recognized?

I 601 is not a form, it is a packet much more that just the form. Some people do it thelseves but this may well be a case where you need a Lawyer, one who specialises in waivers.

immigrate2us.net has a lists of recommended Waiver lawyers.
