Hi, I have some questions regarding AP. Hope anyone here can help me.

I’m currently in AOS  (entered US with a K1 fiancé visa) and already have my combo card. my status at the moment is "case is ready to be schedule for interview"

1)   I want to go back home (Mexico) for 15 days to visit family, attending my best friend wedding and get some papers from my college so I can enroll in a master here in the U.S . Just want to know if is ok for me using my AP to do the trip even if is not a emergency trip.

2)   If someone has returned using AP to JFK, can you tell me your experience?  Or any other airport, I will love to hear the experience of using AP.

Thanks so much in advance

You can use your AP to travel with your AOS pending approval. It does not have to be an emergency. Bring the following when you're traveling:

  1. Passport
  2. AP
  3. AOS NOA1
  4. Marriage certificate

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Thanks for the reply. The marriage certificate and NOA1 has to be the originals or I can do copys?

Bring the originals PLUS copies. Just in case they want to verify the copies with originals or they want copies for their reference :) You must hold onto the originals.
