He also explained it to me that i still gonna received my green card then surrender it on my oat.

That’s awesome and congratulations. Meaning it’s better everyone having the combo interview goes there with the wife or husband. Makes it more easier . Thanks for the clarification and hope . It’s funny they still send the greencard then later hand it over at the oath ceremony. I was very confused yesterday when I visited the USCIS to renew my extension letter . Woman said you should get your new card within 4 months. I should have inquired more but I didn’t. Came home wondering if my I-175 has been approved and they now transferred my case to another office for the interview of my n400

its good to know you still getting the card even tho you got both approved . Hope is here and congratulations on this journey . Soon to be over . Thanks for enlightening us on your experience. Peace

My field office is in sacramento. My appointment is at 2:00 pm and i signed in an hour early. Officer called me at like 2:10 pm, he went thru first in my i751, he asked my wife a little bit question and recent pictures of us in our phone. Then after that, he went over with my n400, he basically aske the question from the n400 application form that i filled out, next is the history test asked about six question, then reading and writing test. I spend like 30 minutes inside the office.

Very interesting . The status lists your FO as Portland, OR. Did you move recently ? Or was that an error in the status page ? Your FP date is listed as Oct 31 2017, which would make it pretty fast for a switch between FOs. When did you receive your interview letter ?

@kaberosi Any updates on your case ? It's probably a good idea to have another infopass if you haven't received an interview letter yet.

No updates as of today. I'm pretty sure if I do an infopass they won't give me any good information. I'll just forget about it for now and revisit in the next few months. I heard from someone at my office that it took them around a year, as well. They did their oath in february, i think. I'll keep this thread posted if and when I do receive the mail. Online for me is hopeless since my case status is still stuck :/

Sorry to hear that! Your case is certainly an outlier here, if they are to be believed when they said that your background check is done. Even LMLM who's a late Sept 2017 applicant is done with his interview at the same FO, along with Jaxey who also applied during that timeframe , so ~Nov 2017 applicants are getting interview notices now. It's not clear why you, another Sept 2017 applicant, isn't getting yours. I realize the frustration of getting any useful information out of them, but if you're able to muster the enthusiasm to seek another InfoPass, I do hope that causes them to wake up to your file!

No, i live in the bay area ever since. I submitted my n400 last week of september last year and i got my interview letter last month, originally my interview date was may 9, but i requested it to change the date because i was out of the country so they cancel the first one and sent the letter on april 17.

Thank you. So we have two Sept 2017 Sacramento FO filers (you and Jaxey) who both got original interview letters in early April (and you got your amended one pretty fast too!) and one person - kaberosi - who's yet to get a letter.  Generally Sacramento seems to follow a predictable timeline, but once in a while, someone seems to take much longer.

It's no problem. I just checked to see if I could schedule an infopass for the sacramento office and it seems right now they've disabled infopass appointments there :(

Hello all,

havent been in the forum for a while but wanted to share that I had my interview today and passed! Recommended for approval; awaiting online status to change.

Below is is a review of my office visit.

I was at the Fairfax office in VA. For anyone going there, parking is located behind the building and is $7 for 4 hours which should be plenty. Parking spots may be hard to come by earlier in the day (09:00-10:30).

Entered the office and and went to the second flr. We were earlier than 30 minutes prior so the lady told me to take a seat and come back to the desk with my interview letter 30 mins before my scheduled appointment, which I did. Right around my appt time, I was called by the officer. Followed him to the office and then the following happened

firstly, asked me for my current passport, Green card, and State ID. Gave him all that and I sat down while he looked through those docs. He said he didn’t need my prior passport, but I had brought it just in case.

He then hen asked me to stand and he put me under oath. We started with the civics questions. They were:

Name one war fought by US in 1900s

Who is the Chief Justice now?

How many voting members in the House

How many years do we elect a US Rep for

What month do we vote for President

Who is the father of our country.

Then went on on to the simple reading and writing test. I had to write ‘We vote for President in November’. Can’t remember what I had to read, but it was unrelated to the writing portion.

He then reviewed my application with me with me and made one correction. I had listed out my full middle name, but my GC just has my middle initial. He wasn’t concerned by it, he just updated it. He asked me some but not all of the questions on the form.

At the end he had me sign my application in two places, and then review and sign a form that was titled ‘Certificate Preparation form’. So I guess just verifying all the information that will be on my Naturalization cert.

he then printed out a form which said he recommended me for approval, and I should hear about the Oath ceremony in 4-6 weeks.

He did not ask me for any of the evidence I brought with me. But I did volunteer an updated list of my trips abroad as I had left the country for 4 short trips I applied last year. He added that to my file.

The whole interview probably took 15 minutes. A really great experience, and professional officer for sure.

Good luck to all still waiting. Will update once I have a oath date!

Yes I saw that. I haven't scheduled an InfoPass myself, since I'm a Dec filer and my interview notice should generally arrive sometime in the next month or two based on current trends. But I noticed that the Sac FO didn't seem to have any valid slots available. Maybe @Jaxey or @LMLM can comment - are they understaffed ? Perhaps a small office ? Technically, their performance has been pretty good; in the latest reported quarter, they processed far more applications than were filed, and reduced their backlog by over thousand: USCIS Dec 2017 quarter N400 performance stats : ~2700 received , ~4000 processed . Those are good numbers compared to most other FOs, which are barely keeping up and building upon a backlog. If the lack of InfoPass appointments is a sign that they're simply focusing on processing applications quickly, that's fine with me. From my own data of recent Sac FO applicants, the majority get an interview between 5-7 months of filing. No one's gotten one in much less time though a handful take longer , and they seem to be background check driven.

Congrats to all those who pass their interview and also to all who just became a US citizen.

Mine got a little bit complicated. They scheduled my interview back at my old address even though I filed AR-11 and now I have to do all these InfoPass thing and sending letter of request to re-schedule my interview in my new field office. I dont know how long its gonna take to get my interview schedule again.-_-!!..

FO is at a really large government building in downtown Sac, its definitely not a really small office. I cannot speak on how well staffed they are, but if you look at the map they have a gigantic service area, which explains the long wait times. I live 3 hour drive away from Sac, and my FO is still there.

Yesterday I received a new notice

I did not know that there is another "in-line" status for the Oath ceremony. Has anyone else received this before actually being scheduled? I wonder how long it will take to be scheduled for the oath ceremony...

Sacramento seems to have monthly ceremonies and a scan of my data of applicants over the past 1-1.5 years shows there's not usually a long wait. However, they may be getting together a bigger group of people for the oath ceremony around 4th of July timeframe.
