It is very very hard for an older arab woman to get married in the states because lets face it.. Even though in the USA. 40 is the new 30, even in arab american communities...if a girl is divorced or has kids or is older... she is meskina... its very hard for her to marry... We as western women double dip.. we can go get a man from our own culture... even in our 80s.. we can marry younger.. we can date younger... and no one is really going to stop us. The reality is I truly feel sorry for GEG because she has alot less options. If she is truly arab,( which I am seriously doubting... I think she is 3rd generation or something like that....it cannot be real easy for her to find an arab man in the US. They want young.. they want virgins ... they want this and that.. and all you have to do is really look on arab sites and look for the ages they are looking for...40 wants 20...etc. It cannot be easy to be an arab woman stateside.. face facts... and to top it all off... she is going outside her own age group for love which as she says... isnt done... Well newsflash....it isnt done with arab women all that much either.

what happens when you yourself become undesirable? Will you have to learn the very compassion you seem to lack for everyone else? I dont know. All I know is that angry people are angry for a reason and the way the chips are stacked against you, you have a lot few options than some of these other women who can move in and out of cultures. You're kidding, right? This sounds like you're over compensating for your own shortcomings. It's called "leveling" in psychology; bringing someone DOWN to your level by ignoring the topic and choosing to debate the personality.

Since this thread has been moved to the OT from the MENA board, some things must be explained. Letely, there has been a lot of discussion about what raises a "red flag" in MENA consulates. Two that get mentioned often are:

Older women with younger husbands, and

Fat women with slim men.

All one need do is go to MENA, dig up a few notable threads and see how often fat women and older women are targeted and called names. A thread was closed there yesterday after a fight started over that.

Wahraina knows that I don't defame either group. I'm an older woman with a younger husband myself, so she knows she's LYING. But that seems to be no problem for her.

You dont seem to have much of a personality to debate ... I mean that in the nicest possible way. You are too busy shoving your opinions down every one s throats for anyone to really get to know you.. your likes , dislikes etc. I can't really even start to see any truth in your writing because you are such a know it all that you turn people off before they can learn from you. I am not "leveling you" I really haven't thought too much about you. I think you are just a sad older arab girl who probably has had a hard time of it, went outside the us to find love and are in pretty much the same boat as many on here. You have your issues I am sure and I don't have to point them out. Its really hard to get married in the US to an arab if you are older cause they want to marry younger....Marrying a foreigner may be your best shot at hooking up with an arab because of agism within the arab community . Why marry you when they can get a cutie from back home half your age? All your personality in the world wont stand against an americanized arab who idealises arab women from back home. Or, if she knew anything about the real me, and could post without stereotyping Arab men as misogynists, Arab women as victims of misogyny, and Arabs as a people in general. That should go over well on the MENA board! How did this woman get an Arab guy, IF she really has one? She doesn't seem to think much of them at all.
