being an arab is not a silver bullet to avoiding greencard fraud.. You can get played just as hard as some of the women on here can and arab women are not always the best fit for arab men. It depends on the individual man and his personality and what makes him happy. Some of these western women are the best thing to happen to these arab men spiritually and emotionally..

The population of Arab nations is very young, and the drain of resources for women because of the flight of young men to the west is not only a social and economic threat, but a threat to Islam due to the corrupting influence western non-Muslim wives believed to have on Muslim men, and the secular hedonism of western life in general. Frankly, it is a concern to many Muslims I know, myself included.

We were talking about how the CONSULATES view relationships, and what THEY consider red flags to be scrutinized closely, and what THEY view as indicators of fraudulent (or "invalid") relationship. All this stuff about age and religion and money and ethnicity and weight and beauty and education and on and on and on -- well they can certainly be important factors -- they are all pieces of the big puzzle -- but no one thing *necessarily* trumps the other.

Everyone can make an important contribution withOUT stooping to personal attacks via insulting remarks about others based on *generalizations* and *speculation.* You know -- as far as immigration goes, it doesn't even matter what WE think is a red flag -- it matters what the consulate thinks. So let us please turn this discussion back to how consulates look at cases, and how they put together those pieces of the puzzle to decide whether a case is legit or not.

I do enjoy the entertainment but I hate to see the potential value of this discussion go down the tubes in an endless flame war.

Thank you, MK!! I was just thinking the same thing but didn't have the wherewithall to write up this post. I felt there was a quite meaningful discussion before it got a bit off topic. And I think some valid points were made, but I won't go back to find them. It doesn't do any of us any good to continually go back and harp on points of dissension anyway . . . and continually harp on them. My head was spinning and frankly I find all of this to be depressing and I don't need anything more to make me depressed.

Well said, and so true. Calling someone a bully and other names is merely a tactic to avoid dealing with their points and to shut them up. If you're not interested in anything other than that, you will be disapointed that your tactics fail to get the response that you want, which is censorship.

I expressed a point of view that may be unpopular, but then, I'm not focused on being popular. I'm far more interested in the dynamics of why some fail and some succeed in the visa process. Some do well despite their "oddities" and some don't do well despite what we may think is the "norm". Just because non-Arab, non-Muslim women are the "norm" on this board doesn't mean that the differences between them and their men is not a valid consideration made by the COs. We have often advised couples to get to know each other well, culturally, religiously, etc. There is not insult intended in raising this issue, so no need to insult anyone for doing it. I seek to offer perspective not often found here. you're missing the point if all you see is a need to attack behind that.
