Bank Letter for I-134

I looked at the requirement for supporting my I-134 and have gathered the following:

A. Letter from my Employer

B. My 401k Statement

C. Photocopy of last three years of tax returns(Notarized)

D. Last three months of pay stubs

E. Bank Statements for the last year

But When I read the instruction on getter a letter from the bank it States:

Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institution in which you have deposits giving the following details regarding your account:

1. date account opened

2. total amount deposited for the past year

3. present balance

The bank officer told me that they can get me a letter with only 1. date account opened and present balance but they

can not get me the total amount deposited for the past year on the letter.

What should I do in this case, should the above information be enough or should I do this other way?

Khurram,

Is your income well above the requirement? If so, forget about a bank letter - you don't need one.

Even if your income is only marginally above the requirement, a year's worth of bank statements should be sufficient to document the account.

(Have you got enough money in the bank to make any difference anyway?)

It sounds like your bank is just being lazy. Both of my banks provided this information (total of all deposits) without hesitation. Maybe you can remind them that you are the customer - this information should be easy enough to get.

Last three months of pay stub? What kind of proof are they looking for? If you are working at the same place and have letter from employer you should only need few of the recent stubs.

You should be fine if you are making more then the poverty line and any letter from the bank they will accept.

For the tax returns its suggested to get the transcripts from the IRS for the last 3 years and not send the notarized copies of your tax returns. You can get the transcripts free from IRS by calling the 800 number and they will mail it to you within 10 days. Good Luck

My bank also did not issue statement with total amount deposited in one year, but only when opened and present balance. I sent 6 months of pay stubs, 6 months bank statements (monthly) and only one year tax return (not transcript) (because 2006 was the first year in my life I paid taxes) and I got the visa fine. I sent as much as I could, better to send MORE then LESS!
