Protests greet G20 leaders in Hamburg, Germany

Don't these paid protestors show up at every G20 meeting?  It is interesting that these protestors say they were provoked because of the police uniforms.  I guess they have no fashion sense.

July 7 (UPI) -- Police in Hamburg, Germany, used water cannons on protesters who said they were provoked into violence on the sidelines of the G20 summit of world leaders Friday.

Demonstrations across the city on Thursday turned to violence, and dozens of police officers were reported injured. Friday's protests were smaller and more dispersed, but equally disruptive, The New York Times reported.

Police said demonstrators threw paving stones and bottles at them. Officers responded with pepper spray and jets of water, though protesters said they were provoked into conflict by police wearing riot gear. Among the more than 100 officers injured, at least five required hospitalization, including a helicopter pilot who said he was blinded by a laser. Protest organizers said some of the estimated 12,000 demonstrators were also injured but a casualty count was not available.

I am sure some of them are genuine protestors, but I'll bet some of them are financed by some Leftist with deep pockets.  The interesting thing is that a lot of the press is playing this as a Trump protest narrative.  Don't these people show up at every G20 meeting?

how/where is 'a lot' of the press playing this a trump protest narrative? i guess they could convince the young ones who've not paid attention to g20 meetings in the past.

maybe if your read more than the text of the link, you might gather a bit more context. seriously, g20 protestors are anti trump (they were anti obama and anti bush as well) and also anti capitalist). trump isn't excused from criticism just because he can't handle it and needs his blankie when people don't shower him with praise and pats on the helmet.

However, I don't remember the press referring to the protesters as being there specifically for Obama, but we all know the mainstream media loved Obama and loathes Trump, so it is predictable.

well i put that on your interpretation of the articles you posted. i don't get 'g20 protesters are solely protesting trump' from any of these links, but you do. go figure.

Where do you go to hire a few thousand protestors? Craigslist?

Can you give a brief primer on what evidence exists for the phenomena of hiring out thousands of protesters? Anything concrete? It's a topic I've never really paid any attention to nor cared much about but I'm curious. It seems to come up a lot here.

I don't know if there is any definitive proof.  I did find this from Indeed.com, and another article from HuffPo.

Did you actually look at those jobs on indeed? They are hiring for the organizers for events, they aren't just hiring people to stand around holding signs. Not to mention like the first 4 out of 5 of the job postings are for the same job hehe

 

It's interesting because when I just googled "paid protesters" or something like that, the event that seemed to have the most evidence was for Trump's campaign announcement event (the one where he travelled down an escalator). An article interviewed someone who worked for the group he hired to "organize" the event, which paid actors to attend.

 

The huffpost article is actually quite interesting, but has nothing to do with paid political protesters which Trump and his fans have claimed multiple times.
