Hi guys, im just a lil bit confused about the rfe reaponse thing. We have not gotten ours yet as according to the tier 2 officer our case is still pending but we're expecting an rfe already as I missed checking 3 friggin check box on our i-129f form part 2 page 4 questions 33, 34 and 35. Given that they will provide all the missed questions on the rfe letter itself and all we just have to do is shade or check it right? But the question is do we still need to include the page 4 part 2 form as a response to the rfe letter or just send back the rfe letter alone without a cover letter as we will just need to shade and answer the questions provided at the back of the rfe letter already? PleAse help!

I think you need to resubmit the document and ensure you answer all questions. If you send in a part of a document that is an automatic RFE again.

Hi Thanks for the response. You mean, do I just need to fill out the rfe page which asks the missed questions again or do I need to answer and include the i129f page that we originally sent?

First off, wait for the actual RFE to arrive. Have you gotten an email saying you are getting one or are you assuming you'll be getting one because you missed to check the boxes? Unchecked boxes do not automatically mean an RFE. 

 

If you get one, they will provide you with a form that you need to fill out, assuming the RFE is for unchecked boxes. We missed a couple but we got an RFE for passport style photos of the petitioner. 

 

When answering and rfe make sure you understand what exactly are they asking you to provide, and provide only what you are being asked. Nothing more, nothing less. Even if you know you missed other stuff, if the RFE doesn't specifically ask for it, you don't add it to the response. 

 

In addition to the form or other evidence in your response you need to include: a cover letter and the blue paper that is a part of the request for evidence which has a bar code on the bottom. Good luck

We're assuming we'd get an rfe anytime this week or the next couple of weeks becos of 3 unchecked boxes. I missed checking the box from the questions #'s 33, 34 and 35 of I-129f form page 4 part 2, What worries me a lot is that I forgot to answer the question 35 which says If I met my fiance theu the service of IMB, I knew from the start that its a big deal for them when it comes to IMBRA. I dont mind the other two missed questions though. But I really hope they'd give us consideration since we provided all the supporting documents that prove how genuine our relationship is like others. Plus I heard sometimes they just ask about the missing document or clarification during the interview but most of the time they issue an rfe. I really am so worried! Thanks though for the good response. 😊

@Nhona Scott, you might get an rfe because of the IMBRA question. Getting an RFE is disheartening but is no big deal to be honest. We got one, sent what was asked from us and got approved a week after they got our response. As long as you have submitted solid evidence of meeting in person in the last 2 years and are legally free to marry, you'll get approved, rfe or no rfe. Good luck
