Hello! I was wondering if any one knew if a speeding ticket over $500 would drastically affect my citizenship approval? It was speeding over 100(I know stupid of me). But this is the only ticket I have ever gotten and everything is paid off. Just wondering if anyone had any opinions on this and what I would need to bring with me to the interview.

you should be fine as long as you disclose it in the application and attach documentation proving that ticket was paid.

06-02-2017 - N-400 package mailed to Dallas Lockbox

06-06-2017 - Credit card charged; received text and email confirming that application was received and NOA is on its way

06-10-2017 - Received NOA letter from NBC dated 06-05-2017

06-16-2017 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter for 06-28-2017

01-19-2018 - Interview Letter sent

02-27-18 - Interview and Oath Ceremony. Finally US CITIZEN!

I got a traffic ticket for a busted headlamp after my interview and before my oath. I went to the court and the case was dismissed. Handed over the dismissal and was alowed to take the oath.

 

I also had a couple tickets from before filing N400. You can go the the concerned traffic court, get a copy of your disposition and proof that the ticket was paid and attach that with your N400 or carry it with you to the interview.

 

A DUI or jail time for DUI might be considered an issue, not so much minor traffic infractions.
