form I-485 and some other forms require this number. USCIS site indicated several places to find it, including on the passport beside the photo. But the only number there is the passport number itself. A few pages later there's a visa stamp with the words: Office of the president of the philippines: commission on filipinos overseas

below that is a logo and then an Emigrant No. that starts A-_ _ _ _ _ _ _ with seven numbers following the A. However, it says "emigrant No, not Alien #.

So I googled "what is the difference between emigrant number and alien registration number and no information was forthcoming

Thanks in advance

The NOA2 is the first time where the alien beneficiary is assigned an A-number. Check your NOA2.

It's also in the passport on the visa label itself.

Now I'm confused, the alien registration # is nowheres to be found on the passport or visa. I did find an "A" number followed by 9 numbers on her I-797 Notice of action right above her name in the "beneficiary" block.

There are so many numbers it gets confusing (receipt number etc)

I just called USCIS and they said we have to schedule a visit to the Philippine embassy to determine where her alien registration number is and where it is for her K-2 daughter. This is very frustrating!

I didn't know that the philippine embassy in washington DC is the place to go to get her alien registration number. I feel like I'm getting the runaround from USCIS

Well, the I-797 also has a receipt number: WAC-16- followed by 8 numbers. Might this be the alien registration number? If it is, does the K2 child get her own unique alien registration or is it the same number as her mom (my K1 fiancee, now my wife).

I called USCIS again and got no help. They simply said to follow instructions.

Maybe we should leave alien registration number blank? Perhaps we are not assigned one until we get the green cards?
