Does anyone haved problems for open a checking account having the EAD/AP convo? I was told that I can't open a new account on security service credit union because my SSN is only for work porpoises, if someone here have some experience that can help me I'll be thankful.

For most banks - you need at least this - Drivers License or EAD (however unless you acted fast after POE, you cannot get a drivers license without EAD anyways),Proof of residence and SSN

 

So as list

 

  1. Drivers License or EAD
  2. SSN
  3. Proof of Residence.

Many financial institutions are ignorant of the requirements and seem to just make it up to suit them  

Actually this is not true. You can get a bank account prior to AOS approval easily. You dont need a W8 or W9. You just need - EAD or Drivers license, Proof of Residence and SSN. No bank will require anymore than that.
