I submitted my N400 in early June (90 days before 5 year anniversary of green card). I submitted with my wife, but I forgot to sign mine.

By the time I signed and resubmitted I was 2 weeks behind her.

Biometrics took about 4 weeks each, her interview was in October, mine nearly a month later in November.

Her Oath ceremony was in November, mine was in January, a full 2 months behind her.

 

I think the increasing delay is a sign of workload not case complexity, her case was more complex than mine (and at the interview she was told hers was dependent on mine - L1 dependent). Her interviewer recommended her for approval anyway (which she received).

 

My interview was enjoyable. Interviewer was very nice, we talked more about hanging laundry in high humidity Asia than anything else, the questions were a breeze and she filled in some travel gaps I had skipped. It lasted about 25 minutes, most of which was just validating the information.

 

The oath ceremony was also a breeze. You literally can't go wrong, its very well organized and executed. Lasted longer than is probably necessary, I was back at work by 11.30am after a 9am ceremony in LA.

 

All in all it has been the least tedious of my USCIS experiences (L1, Green Card with complications, Naturalization). 7.5 years to the day since arriving in the US.

 

Good luck to everyone else on the same path. I hope your journeys are as trouble free as mine has been.

Thanks..Did you try calling and asking? Because some offices are getting them done sooner..why is Atlanta delayed? I tried to call but they keep saying "your case is within normal processing times." It's been 237 days now 😐

I did not call them but if you check USCIS processing time Atlanta is running behind by 2-3 months. i dont know how accurate it is. It shows they are processing Jan 2017 applications as on Oct 31 so we have to wait 2-3 months more to receive the interview letter.  Just keep your fingers crossed.

@JAtlantaIf that's the case then we are only going to get called by April/May 2018..provided they move at that speed and not slower😔😔

I'm a June filer, got my letter for interview next month. I'm a NYC filer and the uscis says they are processing April 2017!

My interview is February 27 and I have a trip for April 1 hope I can make it.

i thought it was gonna take longer since I only have 7 months and is taking close to a year or more

Just had my oath today and now am proud citizen!

ps. I had a traffic ticket shortly after I passed the interview for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. I was very worried what to answer to the question "Have you knowingly committed any crime or offense, for which you have not been arrested; or have you been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, convicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance, including traffic violations?" 
So I decided to leave it blank and brought the notice form and the traffic ticket there. The person who reviewed my documents asked me what the ticket was about and took some note on my notice, took my green card and sent me off to the ceremony!
