Hello everyone! I am hoping someone in the group could enlighten me with the confusion I am going through now. Our K1 visa application was approved April 10 and was forwarded to US Consulate Montreal since I am working here in Canada. Patiently waiting for the Packet 4 to be able to schedule medical and interview. We are having a co-sponsor but the confusion now is that though the US Consulate in Montreal accepts co-sponsors, my being a Filipino citizen beneficiary does not allow me to have a co-sponsor. Does it follow that since the US Consulate in Manila does not accept co-sponsors for K1, other US Consulates would also not accept co-sponsors for Filipino beneficiaries? Please anyone help. Thanks so much in advance for any comments.

You should be okay. While yes the Manila Embassy generally doesn't accept co-sponsors for K-1 visas(with some exceptions), it is about what embassy you go through not your nationality. You should be fine.

Once you have your NVC MTL#, check your CEAC status: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Once your CEAC status shows "Ready", you can download Packet 3 from the Canadian Embassy website here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/

Canadian Packet 3 requests three documents to be emailed back to the Canadian Embassy.  Once received, the Canadian Embassy will reply with the Packet 4 email that has the instructions for scheduling your medical and interview.  It took roughly 12 hours from emailing the Packet 3 documents, to receiving the Packet 4 return email.

Since Packet 3 is available online, we did not wait until we received Packet 3 or Packet 4 in the regular snail mail to schedule our interview and medical.  We had no issues.

I am not sure of the co-sponsorship regulations for Canadian K1 Visa filers, as we did not need a co-sponsor ourselves.
Maybe another VJ member can chime in on this.

Are you a Canadian citizen or Filipino citizen living in Canada?

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. I already sent my packet 3 twice but still waiting for Packet 4. I am a Filipino working in Canada.

I have read from other Canadian VJ members, that they had to re-email their packet 3 documents 2-3 times until they received their packet 4.

Did your CEAC status show "Ready" when you had emailed your Packet 3 documents?

Yes, As soon as our status showed "READY" at CEAC, I emailed our packet 3. Resent it a week after. I just got the auto-reply on both times and saw that everytime I sent the Packet, it showed updated on that date they received my email.
