Hello All,

I have a couple of questions about how to fill out the I-134 I'm sending in to my fiance. I am using my mother as our sponsor, she is retired but has multiple assets that make her a good candidate for sponsorship. I am filling out her I-134 with her and have some questions. These are for the new 2016/2017 version of the I-134, since his interview date is in April.

1. Question 8a asks about real estate. She owns her home and can give an approximation to it's value, but has no official documents to support her claims. Will we need to provide anything?

2. Question 10a asks about dependents. While my mother filed her taxes with me listed as a dependent, I am 24 and only technically "partially dependent". I have read on forums here that she only needs to list dependents under the age of 21 when counting total household number. Can someone clarify this for me?

I want to make sure I am filling everything in right. I am also submitting I-134 information for myself as a backup, and while I have a full time job that is over 125% of the poverty line, I only acquired this job 2 months ago, and job/finances previous to that have been spotty. Am I right in thinking I'll need a co-sponsor because of this?

Thanks

1) Not necessary, unless she does not fulfill the requirement based on income

2) If you're dependent on her taxes, you're dependent on the affidavit.

The London consulate is very easy on the i134. They prefer only a letter of employment as proof. If you have this (for yourself), your fiancé will probably be fine even without your mothers affidavit.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.
