Just wanted to share our experience for K1, I know that it is very intense process and our experience might help someone maybe to relax a little bit since it's nothing what we think :-). So we started  the process with a lawyer that was not much of a help so we had to do everything ourselves and at first step applying, getting approved everything was going smooth. We got to the step to schedule an interview and that was the hardest  time for us, since the US website  Embassy in Ankara was telling us that there are no appointment dates available. We were checking the website every minute and we did this for 3 full weeks, after we found an open date and that was for 2 months later. (long story short) my fiance went on the interview the other day (got approved), they did ask him a lot of questions about our relationship, about previous marriage if any, kids if any, so the 5 minutes interview was about how did we meet and they told him to explain that in details (like the whole story) and that was it. During the interview MAKE SUREEEE you have a LOTTTT of pictures, A LOTTT OFF CONVERSATIONS ( print out as much as you can), tickets, gifts and also the paperwork (tax for the last year, affidative support , write a letter of intent of marriage in 30 days, divorce decree if any) , the officers are very nice and will try to make you comfortable and relaxed, so they will talk to you very casual (nothing to worry about). From the whole file that we had they looked just at the proof's of the relationship, that's  what they pay attention to, Is the relationship real or just a scam. If you have a real relationship and all the paperwork ready, you have nothing to worry about, be patient till the interview date, focus on your relationship evidences and go and proof that on your interview. Good Luck!

Hello. We are also filing from Turkey as well. I have a question about what you mean when you say bring many receipt. My fiance and I both live in Istanbul, Turkey together. I understand the importance of receipts, but what should we bring? Like a receipt from carrefour or migros or from like a restaurant? We have tons of pictures together from the last year around the city.

Another question, depending on your experience, we received the NO1 in January. Every time we check it says, "case was received." Does USCIS ever change the status once they open the case and begin to work on it? Or does it stay as the same status until we receive the NO2. I think we are just nervous because of what is happening with US immigration regulations.

After the case status recieved its gona change to case statis "aproved" and that means that you can go ahead and gill out the DS160 and schedule an interview. By bring receiptes i mean gift receiptes we did send our wedding ring reveipts, traveling tigether tickets , so what they are lokking for is if this relationship is real, if you have everything than nothing to worry about, just focus on answers . Good luck!

Thank you for posting about your experience.

However, I have had a very different experience. We had frontloaded our petition, sending pictures, and chats and other relationship evidence with the I-129f, and I also showed up at the interview with an accordion folder full of another set of pictures, receipts, chats and Skype logs to show an ongoing relationship and they did not request any of it. They only asked me for the I-134 and supporting documents, tax transcripts and employment letter namely. I even slipped an updated letter of intent in the affidavit of support pile without being asked because I was worried they did not ask for much. Sure, you have to convince them that the relationship is real, but don't worry if you do not have mountains of relationship proof. Quality matters more IMO.

@sal&sar I believe the biggest issue you might have is showing US domicile if you have been living in Turkey so you might want to start looking into that. And yes, after the NO1, it is just waiting for an approval with no status changes.

I absolutely agree, you dont have to have mountains of relationship proof but the more you have the better especialy if you think that you might have a RED FLAG in your case like my fiancee was denied 4 times for a tourist visa soo we really had to proof that he is engaged to me and this is a real relationship. Every case and experience is different thats why i just wanted to share ours 🙂
