Affidavit of Support Question (Year)

Before I start, I have a duplicate package of the documents that was submitted to USCIS and NVC last year 2016 for a spouse visa (CR1) and my interview is this month (13 months after first submitting the I-130 Petition).  On the Form I-864EZ it says the most recent tax year is 2015 (then it has the total income), the IRS tax transcripts, Federal Income Tax Return and Form W2 all say 2015 too. 

 

My question is, is this still up to date?  Obviously it was at the time but now that we are in 2017 I'm wondering if it's still in date so to speak?  These are what they will want to see at the interview correct?

 

Forgive my ignorance, we don't do all this tax stuff in the UK in quite the same way.  It's much simpler (unless you're self employed).  I think I'm being paranoid and worrying for no reason but just wanted some reassurance.

If you're worried, perhaps bring a fresh affidavit of support alongsidethe 2016 tax return just in case it's being asked

How would I do another one at this point?  Would it have to go through NVC as before?

No, but you might want to bring it to the interview if the interview date is after the April 18th tax deadline for 2017.  They would expect that you would have completed your taxes by this date.  If you don't have the time to wait for transcripts, just bring a copy of your 2016 federal taxes along with relevant W2s and 1099s, if applicable.

 

Make sure the updated I-864ez is signed and dated.

I read somewhere that as it I'm being processed via the NVC and not via direct consular processing that all financial stuff gets forwarded to London from New Hampshire directly, therefore they will have everything there already and won't need to see anything pertaining to that?

They may or they may not but per both the NVC and the latest London embassy guidance, you must have it with you at the interview. I'd say bring a copy with you just in case they "misplaced" your submitted copy.  At least they now allow photocopies of "wet signatures" for the I-864ez as of January 1, 2017.
